MAN IN PURSUIT IDENTIFIED — The Texas Department of Public Safety Tuesday afternoon identified the man from Monday’s pursuit from Decatur to near the Oklahoma border. The driver of the Ford Excursion was Tristan J. Almanzar, 26, of Midlothian. Almanzar died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after the vehicle was stopped by DPS just north of Gainesville. LOCAL MAN DIES FROM FALL — A Wise County man died after falling from a rooftop bar in Dallas Saturday night. Chris Hill, 25, was at the 77 Degrees bar at North Henderson Avenue March 12 before falling from the second floor, according to police. “Witnesses stated that they saw the deceased go over to the railing and then onto the ground,” said Dallas Police Department Public Information Officer Melinda Gutierrez. Hill died from his injuries after being transported to an area hospital. The Dallas Police Department is investigating the incident as an unexplained death. Hill worked for the City of Bridgeport. A 2015 graduate of Paradise High School, Hill starred on the football field. “Chris was very well loved and a great employee,” said Bridgeport City Manager Mike Murray. “He was a respected and hardworking member of our family, and we miss him.”

SOFTBALL RESULTS — Decatur (7-8) improved to 3-0 in District 7-4A with a 21-0 rout of Castleberry Tuesday. Bridgeport (8-9-1) started league play with a 16-1 loss to Argyle. In 10-3A, Boyd (14-7) fell even at 2-2 with a 7-4 loss to Pilot Point. Paradise (9-6-1, 1-2) picked up its first district win over Ponder, 3-2.
BASEBALL RESULTS — Tied at 4 after six frames, Decatur (4-6-1, 1-0) scored one in the seventh Tuesday to win its first District 7-4A contest against Castleberry 5-4. Bridgeport was limited to one hit in a 10-0 league-opening loss to Argyle. Aidan LeMasters finished with six RBIs to help Boyd (9-1-2) start 10-3A with a win over Valley View, 21-6. Paradise’s Hayden Crites was 3-for-4 with a home run and 5 RBIs, as the Panthers (7-2) routed Ponder 15-1. Chico (1-7, 0-2) managed one hit in a 10-0 loss to Poolville.
