A monthslong investigation into reported drug sales around Westfield and Brocton resulted in numerous arrests this week.
Taken into custody were 43-year-old Shawn R. Conway, 22-year-old Savannah Dorsey-Carter, 57-year-old Steven Andrews and 48-year-old Donald Tolber, all of Brocton.
In a news release, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said a search warrant was executed shortly before noon Wednesday at 14 John St. in Brocton as part of a lengthy investigation. Included in the raid were members of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, Criminal Investigative Division and Dunkirk Police Department.
Prior to entry, Conway left the residence but was stopped by deputies and taken into custody for driving on a suspended license. He was later found with crack cocaine and fentanyl, “both being packaged for sales,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
Doresy-Carter, who was located inside the residence, was reportedly wanted on an arrest warrant in Westfield. Tolber was also inside and was wanted out of Dunkirk.
“As a result of the search, investigators found 8.12 oz of cocaine, 4.84 oz of fentanyl, 1.4 grams of methamphetamine and $447.00 US Currency was found,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Dorsey-Carter is facing charges of first- and second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Tolber was taken into custody on the warrant for second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and fourth-degree grand larceny.
Andrews is facing charges of second-degree criminal nuisance.
Conway is facing charges of first- and second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unlicensed operation.
