WEST FARMINGTON — Carol Jean Goddard, age 83, of West Farmington, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 7, 1938, in Bristolville, the daughter of the late Carl A. and Doris Becker Cross.
Carol was a graduate of Farmington High School in 1956. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at Kent State University in Ashtabula.
Carol was a registered nurse for Geauga Medical Center and was a traveling nurse for several years.
She was a member of the West Farmington United Methodist Church, the Woman’s Relief Hall Corps No. 104, past president of the Corps and was representative at the Wade VA Hospital. She held many stations in local and national Woman’s Relief Corps. She loved being a registered nurse and enjoyed traveling.
Carol is survived by her two loving sons, Thomas (Ruth A.) Goddard of Vine Grove, Ky., and Richard (Ruth E.) Goddard of West Farmington; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two brothers, Howard Jack Cross of Bristolville and Harold James Cross of Kalispell, Mont.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul K. Goddard, who died in 1974; her parents; and two sisters, Joyce Rowland and Ruth Mary Morrison.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., with a celebration of her life at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2022, at West Farmington United Methodist Church, 220 W. College St., West Farmington, OH 44491. Her final resting place is in Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in her name, to West Farmington United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 93, West Farmington, OH 44491 or to a favorite charity of your choice.
