More beds were available at hospitals in Chautauqua County.
According to a survey hospitals provide the state daily, there were 22 beds open out of 126 in total at UPMC Chautauqua in Jamestown, Brooks-TLC Hospital in Dunkirk and Westfield Memorial Hospital in Westfield.
The increased availability — 17% at the most recent count in the survey — comes as UPMC Chautauqua reported 10 more beds bringing its current total to 82 and four more beds at Brooks bringing its total to 38.
Of the 82 beds at the Jamestown hospital, 14 were available. On Wednesday, none of UPMC Chautauqua’s 72 total hospital beds were available.
In its intensive care unit, UPMC said none of its eight beds were open.
Of the 38 patient beds at Brooks, seven were available. Earlier in the week, there were four open beds. None of the hospital’s ICU beds were open.
And at Westfield, one of its six beds were available. The hospital does not report having any ICU beds.
The hospital bed occupancy data comes from a daily COVID-19 survey through the State Health Electronic Response Data System. Information can be found at coronavirus.health.ny.gov/hospital-bed-capacity
